IF the below are NOT included in the disk I suggest that you check into
where it came from for it may have been tampered with!
Included in the zip should be:
SUPERSON.COM - Ad for Super Sonic Inc. and NUKE! written by Brian Bourne
VALIDATE.COM - Use this to check CRC
VALIDATE.DOC - Text that comes with Validate
SDIRKILL.COM - The main erasure routine must be run from NUKE.EXE
NUKE.EXE - Runs the program after confirming everything.
READ.ME - This Text.
I also strongly suggest you run Validate on the two executable (nuke.exe and
sdirkill.com) to check that it has not been tampered with... you should get
the following:
When you run Validate.Com (type: VALIDATE SDIRKILL.COM) it should give you:
Validate 0.3 Copyright 1988-89 by MacAfee Associates. (408) 988-3832
File Name: sdirkill.com
Size: 371
Date: 3-13-1991
File Authentication:
Check Method 1 - A893
Check Method 2 - 08D7
When you run Validate.Com (type: VALIDATE NUKE.EXE) it should give you:
Validate 0.3 Copyright 1988-89 by MacAfee Associates. (408) 988-3832
File Name: nuke.exe
Size: 30,300
Date: 3-20-1991
File Authentication:
Check Method 1 - DFE9
Check Method 2 - 1354
If you get something different than that you may have a problem!
Syntax:
NUKE
The program will then ask you for the directory name that you wish to NUKE!
You can enter it in the following format: "driveletter:\path" the program will
then check the directory's existence and further prompt you the process is
quick and painless but... please note that this program is very destructive
after it deletes a directory it may be impossible to recover them. It will
remove the entire directories contents from existence.
P.S. Don't worry to much. When you type in NUKE not only will it ask you
wether or not to proceed but if the directory does not exist it will
abort and if the directory is the root it will give you a warning!
System Requirements:
256k RAM
IBM PC/XT/AT/PS1/PS2/386
Hard Drive or Floppy (NUKE! works on both!)
Written by: Brian Bourne! (Beta Tester: John Lee) and entered into the Public
Domain on Monday, March 19,1991... I have not bothered to get a copyright on
my program. It has taken me MANY hours of hard work and I hope that you
will respect this and NOT change anything about it!
If you like my program please send E-mail to Brian Bourne if you wish
to register (for free) or to send comments.
Thanx,
Brian.
